The Empathy Gap between men and women. This issue is at the very heart of our cause and is a huge factor in everything below:
The 63% Sentencing Gap that sees men punished far more harshly than women for the same exact crimes.
The non-consensual Genital Mutilation (circumcision) of boys being legal, even though the removal of the exact same tissue from girls is seen as barbaric.
Domestic Violence against men is seen as funny. Men who are abused are arrested, laughed at by DV charities, told they cannot be victims, and redirected to services that help abusers stop abusing.
Legally, men cannot be raped by women – despite CDC figures putting them at half of all rape victims, and women as half of all rapists.
Women who abuse and rape males are free to laugh about it on Twitter. There are no consequences, even when a famous woman like jokes about raping men. This is real Rape Culture.
Divorce Courts favouring women to such an extent that men settle out of court rather than fight to see their children in the hope of a better deal.
