As you may already have heard, Sidney Watson and a good chunk of the Australian MRM descended on Melbourne, Australia, a couple of days ago to tell everyone about all of the heavily-ignored issues facing men. We did expect some pushback from people who simply don’t believe that men have issues and that the MRM has some kind of hidden agenda. What we weren’t expecting was for that pushback to come from some ‘Anti-Fascist’ group calling itself “The Campaign Against Racism and Fascism”. I think that caused a lot of confusion in the MRM, since we don’t even talk about racial issues, and it’s still not exactly clear to most people why they showed up – however, I have tracked down what a kind person might call their ‘reason’, and will have a stab at explaining it in a septate article (it’s pretty pants-on-head crazy). Of course, with all the build-up we had over the counter-protest I’m sure you’re all quaking at the idea of millions of violent anti-fascist protesters in black-block descending on Sidney and burning her at the stake, so lets have a quick look at how many showed up!
Wow, that’s really underwhelming, I think I’ve seen longer lines at the Post Office! In fact, most people from our march seem to think we outnumbered them two or three to one and, if you go with the media count, they were probably outnumbered by the 100 police in attendance. Honestly, I’m a little disappointed, I guess we’re just not annoying people like we used to? We also had the unusual happening that some news outlets actually interviewed our guys on the ground, and didn’t just print the stuff from the really stupid ones either! Seems like a pretty major success considering what a lot of the other outlets have said.
Unfortunately, I can’t find any photos of the entire March For Men (send one in if you have it), which is likely due to the AntiFa and media being scared that someone might see the size of our march, since it dwarfed the AntiFa. We do however have a lot of video from inside the march itself, so have a look and see for yourself.
It’s hard to really say, but I personally agree that our March was at least twice as big – which is not surprising since we actually had something relevant to say. Not that you would get that impression from the AntiFa’s reporting on the subject, or the usual aggressively biased response from the media. Just the usual name-calling and nastiness, with added accusations of racism because they have run out of things to say that sound plausible.
In any case, I’ll leave you with the video since it’s nearly two hours long.
